Academy FAQs
Asked by Parents & Players
Child safety is our absolute priority. We have a comprehensive Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, and all our coaches are vetted and trained in these procedures. Our designated Club Welfare Officer is always available.
You must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or injuries on the registration form. This information is kept confidential and allows our coaches to ensure your child’s safe participation.
Our coaches are first-aid trained. In the event of an injury, we will administer immediate care and contact you immediately. For any serious injury, we will seek emergency medical assistance at once.
Player safety comes first. Training may be modified, postponed, or cancelled in cases of extreme heat, thunderstorms, or unplayable pitches. Notifications will be sent via our WhatsApp group.
We welcome boys and girls from 4 to 19 years old, with programmes tailored to each developmental stage: Foundation (4-8), Youth Development (9-12), Performance (13-16), and Elite Pathway (16-19).
Registration is a simple two-step process. First, please complete our online enquiry form or contact us directly. We will then invite you for a brief discussion about your child’s goals, followed by the submission of our digital registration form and payment of the first month’s fee to secure their place.
No formal trials are required for our standard academy programmes. We believe in inclusive development and welcome players of all abilities. For our Transition Pathway and Development Squads, assessment and invitation are based on coach observation of current members over time.
Our core Academy Player Membership is $20 per month. We also offer One-to-One Coaching ($40/month) for players seeking personalised development sessions. All fees are payable monthly in advance.
The fee covers all professional coaching costs, facility hire, and administrative support for your child’s scheduled training sessions. It does not cover insurance, optional club kit or tournament entry fees.
The essential club training kit (shirt, shorts, socks) is a one-time purchase of $35. The club tracksuit is optional and available for $70. All items are worn for a unified team identity.
Fees are due on the 1st of each month. We do not offer refunds for missed sessions due to illness or holidays. In exceptional circumstances, such as long-term injury verified by a doctor’s note, fee suspensions can be discussed with management.
We accept cash, and mobile money (Ecocash, InnBucks, and Mukuru). Payment details are provided upon registration.
Through our formal Player Pathway, we actively facilitate trials and placements for outstanding graduates with local clubs, college programmes in the USA, and our network of international partner academies.
We conduct informal ongoing assessments and offer formal progress reviews for our Development and Elite squads. This includes feedback on their development across the 5 Pillars and discussion of future goals.
Yes. We run holiday camps during school breaks, which are open to both members and non-members. These are a great way to experience our coaching and maintain fitness.
Movement between groups is based on technical ability, physical readiness, and social maturity, as assessed by our coaching team. This ensures each player is in the optimal environment for their development.
We focus on holistic, individual development through our “5 Pillars”: Technical, Tactical, Physical, Psychological, and Social skills. Training is conducted in small groups to ensure personalised coaching attention.
All training sessions are held at Marlborough High School in Harare. Sessions run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
We encourage attendance at a minimum of two sessions per week for consistent progress and skill retention. Our schedule is designed to offer flexibility while ensuring quality, focused development.
Yes. Our Performance and Elite Pathway squads (typically U13+) participate in organised friendly fixtures, local tournaments, and academy leagues. The focus remains on development over results.
